HULAGU KHAN

I have just finish reading a book that i recently buy: Hulagu khan; Khabar Hitam dari Timur. I read it in around 2hours time as the book is actually quite simple and entertaining. It is written by my wife's favorite writer: Abdul Latip Talib and this is the latest book in his book series that we buy.

What is interesting?
Well..if you want to know in depth, you need to buy it but i would like to conclude a few things in the book that worth sharing. It is about the vicious attack of the Mongolian army towards the Abbasiyah empire. As we all know, Muslim finally won the war with the help of Allah in the infamous battle of Ain Jalut.

A few similarities of the Muslim during that period of time and us currently and the depressing similarities are the same reason why Muslim world has never regain their initial phase grandeur till this moment.

SIMILARITY 1: Assabiyah
Even though they are Muslim brother they still identify themselves as Parsi, Turks and Arabs. They are united on the surface but suspicious towards each other behind. They despise the notion that they need to unite for Islam and like to see their brother suffer just because they are not Arabs, Turks or Parsi. They are their own enemy. They never unite and always trying to outdo their brother in a bad ways.

SIMILARITY 2: Taksub
They are very taksub with a leader and will definitely retaliate for the sake of the leader despite the leader are wrong. They are also taksub with their mazhab to the extend that a group of people in a country cooperate with the enemy to kill and exterminate the other mazhab group. They just can't see the similarities and always shouting on the difference.

SIMILARITY 3: Mind my own business
They don't care about heir Muslims brother suffering in other place. They don't have the guts to help and they don;t have the urge to protect. For them as long as we keep quite, no one will harm us. The truth is the enemies is always finding ways to crush us even with no apparent reason. The fallacy of this ideas brought them to their destruction.

SIMILARITY 4: the unseen enemies (Munafiq)
Almost always come from the Muslim circle. they are the main player and engineers towards the destruction of a Muslim sovereign state. They are the agents of the enemies that works tirelessly to gain their own glory and worldly gains. They are the most difficult people to be identified and always as if talking for the sake of the religion. They will always fine ways to make sure that we will not get stronger and trying extremely hard to make sure that the people will never go back to the true Islamic teaching. They know that once Muslim come back to their religion, there is no ways Muslim will be defeated.

SIMILARITY 5: The coward leader
The leaders that always thinking about his popularity and their own sake. They never think about their people except a little. They are afraid that they will lost their power and have the heart to offer part of his power to the enemies as long as they can stay where they are. they are indecisive and lack judgment. They have poor support group and they always think about their self and family well being. They don't care about the people at all.

SIMILARITY 6: Selfish
Only thinking about themselves and themselves and themselves

SIMILARITY 7: Hedonism
The ongoing illness that will never cured as long as they don't want to comeback to the path of Islam. The one reason why they are afraid of dying and becoming bunch of cowards.

SIMILARITY 8: Islam is not the way of life

Well..that is what i can get from reading the book. Of course history book is always important for us to learn and make way forward.
