THE FLOATING PRAYING MAT!!

Many of us should notice this news circulating around since last saturday. the alleged floating praying mat picture that was alleged being taken by someone from Negeri Sembilan. it happened in the infamous Masjid Kristal. the famous masjid for tourist who come there just to take the picture.

i'm quite amused with the response from the state religious and information deputy committee chairman regarding the alleged incidence. of course there is no such thing as miracle in the hand of ALLAH and i have no qualm to accept it as something that really happen. the problem is the response that comes after the alleged incidence that fascinate me the most. the Terengganu chief imam use this incident to as a stepping stone to remind every muslim not to neglect their prayers the other guy there has other ideas and i'm agree with him for that.

of course what the imam said is true enough especially to everyone who come to the mosque just to have a look and sightseeing. i did notice that many who came to the mosque arejust coming to take picture. with a lack of respect towards thismosque, they come in buses with their aim just to have a picture or two there. they use the compound to have a rest and even dating. coples taking picture here and there. tourist going into the mosque for sightseeing is just something that i personally not very comfortable with.

we read the statement from the guy below will make us somehow clear what is actually the purpose of building this mosque in the first place. with all the speculation behind this mosque project and how its end up right now i'm afraid this mosque will loss it true function for ibadah and become a symbol for tourism. this makes me remember the similarity with another mosque more than 1400 years ago.

wallahua'lam

i'm quoting this from THE STAR 2 July 2009

"State religious and information deputy committee chairman Muhammad Ramli Nuh said the department was also keen to contact others who had witnessed the incident. “This is an interesting development and we want to get more facts and evidence from eye-witnesses,” he said yesterday.
He said the woman, who happened to visit Crystal Mosque, could provide crucial information as she was the first to capture the phenomenon.
“We want to authenticate whether she took the photograph or obtained it from a third party.”
Muhammad Ramli said the unexplained event could be a divine sign, thus more details were required to enable the state religious department to do the necessary.
“If it actually happened, it could bring about a positive development for Crystal Mosque. Visitors would start making a beeline to the site if the facts and the photograph could be authenticated by a religious body,” he said.
